October 3, 2020 Officer Involved fatal shooting Wolfe City, Texas On October 3, 2020 Wolfe City Police and Hunt County Sheriff's Deputies were responding to the Kwik Check in Wolfe City for a possible fight in progress. Upon arrival, the Wolfe City Police Officer put out shots fired and immediately requested EMS. It is believed the victim, Jonathan Price was trying to break up a fight and defended a woman getting beaten by her man and was shot by a Wolfe City police officer. The Wolfe City police officer has been placed on leave pending the investigation in to the fatal shooting by the Texas Rangers. According to friends, Jonathan was not a criminal or an outcast. He was a leader, a hometown hero, exceptional athlete, inspiration, hard worker, all around great guy, and most importantly a friend. Our prayers go out to Jonathan's family and friends. Jonathan seemed like a very well loved and respected man in the community. Friends have set up a GoFundMe to help the family with burial expenses. FB post from a friend of Jonathan Price 10-4-2020 Wolfe City resident starts problem with reporter then tries to run him over. The individual was let go with no charges.
